Lace up and hit the trails at the Buried Barrel Hard Cider Trail 5K – All American!, a scenic fall race through the countryside of Castile celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

This point-to-point 5K begins at Buried Barrel Hard Cider before winding through beautiful farmland and apple orchards, including the Pankow Farms apple orchard. Participants can run or walk the course while enjoying the scenery that makes Wyoming County such a special place to explore in the fall.

The celebration continues after the race at Buried Barrel, where participants can enjoy complimentary water, an optional hard cider toast, music from DJ Ricky Muolo, awards and chicken BBQ from Sweet Smoke Barbeque. Wagon rides and “Jimmy” rides will provide transportation back to the cidery from the finish line approximately every 30 minutes as participants complete the course.

All-American Spirit

Participants are encouraged to dress in their patriotic best as the event celebrates America's 250th birthday. Break out the red, white and blue, stars and stripes, American flag gear, patriotic socks, Uncle Sam attire or anything else that shows your spirit!

Race for a Cause

Proceeds from this year's race will support several local organizations, including Animal Friends at WyCo Animal Shelter, the Eastside Fire District, the Wyoming County Coalition for Suicide Prevention and local veterans services.

Participants and spectators are also encouraged to bring donations of personal hygiene items, non-perishable food or gas gift cards to support local veterans.

Race Registration

Registration includes an All-American swag bag featuring a commemorative 2026 Buried Barrel Hard Cider Trail 5K T-shirt, custom Buried Barrel bandanna, handheld American flag and other race-day goodies and sponsor items. Each registered participant will also receive a ticket for a chicken BBQ meal.

Race-day bib and swag bag pickup: Sunday, October 4, beginning at 8:30 AM and continuing until the start of the race.

Registration for the in-person and virtual 5K closes October 3 at 5:00 PM.

Note: Participants must bring ID for swag bag and bib pickup. No dogs are permitted on the trail, although leashed, friendly pets are welcome at the cidery.
